Biomass

Biomass ‒ out of concern for the natural environment

During the production of laminated timber there is a lot of rubbish left. In the first stage we receive sawdust and wood shavings ‒ the biomass which is ecological product. After the wood processing, biomass is ready to reuse.

During the first production stage ‒ logs wiping, we receive sawdust and the wood bark of high quality. In the next stage, properly prepared boards go to drying room where they are being dried in 12% humidity. In that shape they are still being processed, where in effect we receive sawdust, dry blocks and wood chips. The wood waste received in the whole process is still available to further processing, for example production of chipboards or energetic fuel.

Biomass ‒ characteristics and purpose

Wood chips ‒ is mostly used by producers of chipboards and as a fuel as well.

Bark ‒ wood bark has a lot of energetic value. It is also used in gardening. It works great for soil acidification after composting.

Wood shavings ‒ the most popular by-product received in wood processing. Wood shavings are very valued fuel material. From it you can receive pellet, chipboards or burn it in ecological boiler room.

Biomass ‒ because we value ecology!

Biomass is developed in wood processing. It is an ecological waste ‒ it’s easily biodegradable. Biomass submitted to a burning process generates heat, which is processed to a different kinds of energy (like electric).

Ecological qualities of biomass:

  • Biomass contains smaller amounts of sulphur than mineral fuel. That’s why burning it is more beneficial to the environment.
  • Positive burning balance of biomass allows to limit the emission of carbon dioxide.
  • Biomass can be produced all over the world, that’s why you can easily save on costs of transportation.
